Introduction:

I have a few passions in life and backpacking is right up there in my top five. I'm that guy who tries to suppress a smile when you tell me you just went "camping" because you drove your Honda Accord out into a field, pitched a tent within five feet of your car and then woke up after tossing and turning for a few hours only to spend the night in your car... 

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure there are plenty of beautiful fields out there that can accommodate your three inch suspension.  But when you get a desire to get up close and personal with nature, you can't satisfy that anywhere but on the lonely wilderness and back country trails. 

I have to admit that this Blog is a little bit more for my benefit than the readers. I needed a way to collect and catalog my thoughts.
